Kelly's Chocolate Factory was nominated for Outstanding Album[2] although he was under indictment at the time for charges related to child pornography.[3]
Other nominees have faced controversy due to their portrayals of major civil rights figures. In 2003, the movie Barbershop received five nominations including Outstanding Motion Picture and Cedric the Entertainer as Outstanding Supporting Actor. The film had been criticized because Cedric's character in the film makes unflattering remarks about Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Jesse Jackson.[4] The rap group OutKast received six nominations in 2004 but faced criticism because they had previously recorded a song titled "Rosa Parks" which had resulted in them being sued by Parks over the use of her name.[3]

The NAACP Image Awards is an award presented annually by the American National Association for the Advancement of Colored People to honor outstanding people of color in film, television, music, and literature.
Similar to other awards, like the Oscars and the Grammys. The 35 categories of Image Awards are voted on by members of the NAACP. There are also honorary awards, including the President's Award, the Chairman's Award, Entertainer of the Year and The Image Award Hall of Fame.
The awards were first presented in 1969. The awards series, normally broadcast with tape delay and aired by Fox Network, was broadcast live for the first time in 2007 for the 38th edition of the awards show. It was first nationally televised in 1974. The ceremonies usually take place in or around the Los Angeles area in February or early March

-Doo direct-to-video film series, produced by Warner Bros. Animation (though it used a Hanna-Barbera logo at the end of the movie). It was dedicated to Iwao Takamoto, who died in early 2007 on the 8th day of January. It is a semi-remake of the classic Scooby episodes, That's Snow Ghost!, The Ghost of Bigfoot, and There's No Creature Like Snow Creature, except it takes place in the Himalayas and features the Abominable Snowman. The film debuted on Cartoon Network on August 31, 2007, with a September 4 release date for the DVD.

How was your experience there? What did you expect the concert to be and how did it turn out?
Khagendra: We initially thought that the sound system wouldn’t be as good. Aafnaie bhaar ma bajaunu parcha jasto lagya thyo, tara teso bhayena. The organizers asked us and brought the things we wanted. The sound system was pretty good. The soundman and arrangers had never listened to our kind music; it was their first time in a metal gig however they still pulled it out right. Ramraie Bhayo.
Anil: I expected headbanging, tara khasaie bhayena. First time bhayera hola. We hope to see it next time we perform there. Sound system affaie milayera bajaunu paryo. The sound system worked fine, as we could co-operate well with the soundman, and he also understood our needs

This melodic death metal band needs no introduction in the arena of the underground musical scene of Nepal, precisely Kathmandu. They are well known for their mind blowing live performance and cool attitude. They are the coolest music makers in the entire music milieu of the underground scene. Vhumi has Bikash Gurung on guitars and vocals, Anil Dhital on bass, Bibek Tamang on Drums and Dipesh Subba on Violin/Keyboard. Ashish Lama used to play Drums for this band before Bibek joined in. Vhumi was here in Pokhara in June 22-23, 2007 to rock the entire lake district. The occasion was PEC (Pokhara Engineering College) Fete, where a 'formal' metal gig was organised for the first time in Pokhara with recognized metal bands from Kathmandu. Vhumi played some of their originals in the event, namely, Variya, Suicide, Tribe, Stone hunter, Live to thrill and Dazzling face.pkrROCKS caught them and had a brief chit-chat with all the members of this versatile band. Excerpts:
pkrROCKS: Vhumi actually means earth/soil. Does this straightforward meaning has anything to do regarding the title of this band? Bikash: We can't ignore the actual meaning of this word, but actually the word 'Vhumi' is taken from Buddhism. Buddhism says that a human's mind consists of 10 parts and the 10th part is VHUMI, or in simple meaning earth/soil.pkrROCKS: So, from which bands/artists do Vhumi draws influences?Anil: Well, all of us have our own influences. I like listening to Yngwie Malmsteem, Sukarma and Rudra. Collectively as a band we like listening Slayer, Dusk, Winds, Ebony Tears etc the most.pkrROCKS: Is this the first time Vhumi has performed beyond the hills of the Kathmandu valley?Anil: Yes, this is the first time we have played outside the valley.Bikash: Once we were invited to perform in an event in Kurintar, but the whole event fucked up and we had to return without even playing a song.pkrROCKS: So how was the expectations before you rocked the show at the FETE? We mean, how did you people feel before performing in this event?Dipesh: We have had no idea about how the local crowd of Pokhara would react to our kind of music as we were playing for the first time in Pokhara. Besides, we have had great time in the highway while heading for Pokhara and had a feeling that lotsa fun is waiting for us ahead.pkrROCKS: Then what special did Vhumi discover after performing in Pokhara?Anil: The crowd of Pokhara is very decent. They just listen to the music and adore the performance. No shitty business at all. In Kathmandu, the crowd throws F words and embarrass the bands if they don't play some used to rocking numbers.
